Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We incubated eggs during the first lockdown with my 9 year old. First incubation we only hatched 1 which in time was a Cockerell then the following month we iincubated some more chicken eggs and also duck eggs. All duck eggs hatched and 1 chicken which is a hen.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Only 2

(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm not sure of the Cockerell. The hen is a light sussex

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Apart from the chicken lockdown which they are fed up with i love seeing them in the yard and back garden. Ever since they were born they have free ranged.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I work full time out of lockdown

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a 10 year old who is about to have yet another birthday in lockdown. Have 2 dogs, a cat lots of goldfish and cattle
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D I found it whilst looking on Internet with questions and it seems a really nice group

Two chickens is a start; I went out several years ago to get three, came home with four and now have 19 hens and a rooster. Be warned! Those cute babies are addictive! And, you've already learned about the coolness (and no doubt, the messiness) of ducks (I've got 10 of those, and two geese, to boot).

Welcome to the community. It's a group of nice, generous and knowledgeable folks who are always willing to help. It's good to meet you, Ann333!
