Good Morning, BYC!
New to this site and 1st time chicken momma as of yesterday. The family got up bright and early yesterday morning to visit the farm supply store hoping they would still have the chicks in the breeds we wanted. It was slim pickens by the time we got there, but I'm still super excited to have started our first flock. We were able to get 11 laying chicks total, 4 light brahmas, 3 barred rocks and 4 cinnamon queens. Hoping we'll be able to add a couple orpingtons, wyandottes or easter eggers yet this spring.
Been preparing to raise my own chickens for many years. Was a follower of a BYC group on a social media platform for years learning all I could. I left that platform several months ago though, so hoping to find a welcoming and supportive community here, especially now that I finally have my first chickies.
