We've kept a flock of 20-30 chickens for 40 years. We free ranged them until 10 years ago when confined them to a large yard due to too much loss to predators. We bought new hens at local swap meets until 2020 when they closed down. We bought 6 very expensive hens from a hatchery last summer. I have now started hatching my own chicks but still learning.
