[Balla chicks]

Hi - a newbie here although I’ve had chooks for about 14 years.
This week we had an unwanted visitor and have now lost 5 of our flock of seven including our oldest (12yr old lady) and newest bantam Peking - we have two left and each are mourning their friend but not as friendly as to each other - should we wait before introducing new birds to the flock or jump straight in to help establish new friends within the coop?

So sorry for your losses. How terrible.
Were they taken during the day? Do you know by what predator? If it was a ground predator consider penning them behind electrified poultry netting to protect them.
I second the suggestion of fortifying their area before introducing healthy stock to them. Or try raising day old chicks with a brooder plate in the coop with them. It's quite easy to integrate a chick between 4 and 5 weeks old by raising them in the coop with the adults.
