Long time lurker, first time poster.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- This is my fourth season with layers and I'm about to start my second with broilers
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
- 22 layers and shortly, 35 broilers
(3) What breeds do you have?
- Red Star and Easter Egger layers and Cornish Cross broilers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
- Chicken Watching! I love just watching them walk around and interact with everything around them
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
- Beekeeping and comic book collecting
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
- Wife and three daughters, 1 golden retriever
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
- I've been googling various questions about chickens for years, and answers from this forum always seem to be at the top of the list. I finally joined because I have a question that I couldn't find an answer to... yet.
