Hi, I am new to the group, although I have been reading the forum since I bought my chickens two years ago. I live in Michigan and made all the rookie mistakes. I started with chicks from a straight run and then had to rehome two roosters. I lost my favorite girls to a hawk and I have spoiled the other two. My Plymouth rock is quite smart and an escape artist. Since we live in town, I only let them range when I am home. Luckily, her first stop after escape is to see if the cats left any dinner and then she pecks on the back door to see if we will come and give her a treat. As a new chicken owner, I have been very grateful for this forum.
