Hello All!! I am Amanda!
I am new to chicken ownership. We got our first round of chicks in March of this year.
we currently have 19 chickens! We started with 8, then got 6 more. Lost 2 to a hawk so we got 8 more (
) and then lost one more. Not sure if she walked away or was gotten
We have 3 EEs (2 hens/1 roo), 3 RIR (2 hens/1 roo), 5 porcelain d’uccle (3 hens/2 roos) and then our newest additions 2 x of each: barred rock, australorp, silver laced Wyandotte and golden laced Wyandotte. All of the last addition are ‘supposed’ to be hens.
I loved letting them free range but with our hawk issue that has been scaled back. I really just enjoy watching them do their thing!
I enjoy doing crafts and building things, even though I’m pretty novice with the latter of the two.
I am a stay at home mom of 2 kiddos, 3 dogs, 2 cats and the chickens! Our hopes are to get bigger animals in the future!
