I googled traumatized ducks and chickens and came across this forum.
6 weeks ago I lost 5 chickens, 1 adult female duck, and 8 ducklings.
My ducks now live in the farthest corner of their pen. The female has stopped laying (she lost her 8 ducklings)
The hens no longer roam during the day either. They stay in their pen and I lost another hen last night I think from the trauma.
They stopped laying as well.
I’m wondering if it would help to add a new duck and a couple hens?
Any advice is welcome

I assume you are talking loss from predation. Any time a flock is attacked it takes time for them to recover their confidence. Not at all unusual for the flock to stop laying because of the stress. Has the predator been eliminated?
