I am a breeder. One of your parent stock birds must have something else in them so the odd chick. I bought some Leghorn pullets from a breeder and one wasn't pure and I finally discovered which bird because instead of having white earlobes one of the pullets had light pink earlobes. She looked like a pure Leghorn. Good luck and have fun...

Thank you for that I have swapped out my main Cockerel and started a fresh group with a new cock and three pullets that I know are all pure, I will keep my other small flock just for eating eggs

That's the problem none of my other roosters have access, could it be in the genes from say grandparents etc because I am baffled more so because all the others I have hatched have been looking just like pure buffs

I too have issue.
