I am planning on raising six Cornish cross birds. I will only have them about eight weeks in the summer so the coop won't be permanent. I'm thinking a sturdy hoop coop with a tarp over it would be best. Good ventilation, and plenty of shade!
Welcome!

A hoop coop definitely sounds like a good idea.

:welcome :frow I am a breeder. Some of my breeds are dual purpose. I hatch out a few hundred chicks every year of which around half will be males. In the past we have processed some but now I sell them at our local farm swap. It helps to offset the cost of the feed. I keep the best as future breeders. I do have buyers. We have a butcher down the road so I get my meat (chicken) from him. Good luck with your plans and have fun...
