Hiya,
Brand new to chickens, more or less, ordered our first laying flock of 8 from Mcmurray back in July of this summer; white leghorns, RIR, barred rocks and our surprise chick ended up being a Crevecoeur with a stylish pompadour. As of today, the coldest its been here in west mass so far, four of them have been laying everyday since the new year!
With extensive guidance from this site and its contributors I put together a coop made entirely of pallets and salvaged materials (see photos).
