Hello!
My name is Jessica and I am a new member to this amazing page! I am from Mid Michigan area and have turned into a crazy chicken lady over the past 2 years!
I started out with 13 hens and 1 rooster. After predators and such we only have 5 hens left from the original group. Our rooster passed from coccidiosis in January. This year I have added 9 new babies that are 5 weeks old as of now.
My chickens are free range on a huge farm with two coops. We lost a lot of our hens from original group in beginning and have since taken proper action to try and make sure they are protected. Our rooster also did not protect them from anything but us which was super annoying. Hoping out of our new batch we have a Roo!
I have become super attached and love being a chicken mom! Just wanting to join group to get fresh ideas or helpful tricks for making my flock the happiest they can be!
