hello and welcome to byc! we’re so glad you joined us! thats a nice looking coop! are you going to put chicken or hardware cloth behind the fence? just asking because i’ve had weasles squeeze into small spaces of my coop before.

Thank you! We are in the most northern portion of New Jersey no weasels, deer red tail fox's and black bears. .

Dobielover and GermanKennhuhn raise important points for your birds' health and security:
1. Ventilation (covered with 1/2 inch hardware cloth)
2. Cover all the outside of your pen/run with more 1/2 inch hardware cloth, and add either a 2 foot apron of that hardware cloth around the perimeter, or a bunch of concrete, brick or rock that will require burrowing predators (dogs, foxes) to dig far enough that they give up before reaching your flock.

Beautiful set up, however, that chicken wire won't keep predators out. I'd invest in hardware cloth.

Is there ventilation between the rafters?
Is there a ridge vent?
I'd add gable vents and definitely replace all the chicken wire with 1/2" hardware cloth.
