A dear friend of the family had to sell the family home which had four beautiful feathered girls. We gave them a new home and what a blessing - averaging 22 eggs per week and great entertainment for the old lady behind us ( she lets them roam in her allotment) and the grandchildren when they come to visit. As a child, our family had chooks but since leaving home (50years ago) I never got round to getting my own. But now, I can recall the difference between commercially produced eggs and home grown. My girls produce 3-4 eggs daily between them small (50g) to large (75g) normally, but today, there was a 111g (nearly 1/4 lb.) I thought an emu had gotten loose in the hen house.
This is a great place to be!
