I've kept a flock every place we've lived for the last 30+ years. I have a flock of 35 hens and three roosters of various breeds -- auracana, wyandotte, australorp, leghorn. We love our flock. They provide us with plenty of eggs. We do not usually eat our chickens. We live in a rural area and have a big garden.
