Thank you for the welcome. I wish I knew the Girl Scout who was able to accomplish having the ban rescinded... I'm just finding out that this isn't the first time the people in this city have tried to have the ban overturned... and no one has been successful as of yet. *sigh*Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies!
I read an article about a Girl Scout going to the city council and got the ban overturned where she lived. Maybe a 4-H student as well!
Thank you, I'm looking forward to learning more about this "hobby."Welcome to Backyard Chickens. This is a great place to explore and hang out.
I'm just finding out that apparently this isn't the first time people in this city have tried to get the ban rescinded, and so far they haven't been successful in the least. Nonetheless, I'll give it my best.Welcome to BYC!

Thank You for the welcome. I'm afraid there is a lot of predisposed assumptions regarding keeping chickens here in this city. It's going to be a long struggle and apparently our group isn't the first who have tried to have the ban rescinded. It seems more communities are lifting the ridiculous ban against chickens -- which are generally far less annoying than many aspects of city living.
Good luck with your campaign, and welcome to BYC! Keep us in the loop with your progress, please.
