Good morning, everyone!

I am a new member and currently reside in North Alabama. I'm originally from the Lee County area (War Eagle!). I am getting into the backyard chicken hobby and am looking to make new friendships, learn new things, and share my love for our feathered friends with others.

Growing up, my parent's had a coop, and we enjoyed seeing that our flock thrived and prospered. My father and grandparents were the experts in raising chickens. I hope I learned a little something from them and hope to share it with my youngest daughter who's still at home.

I am currently building my coop and run as I have about 40 hatchlings ordered: 20 Easter Eggers, 14 Polish, and about 6 Buff Orpingtons. Fingers crossed they all like their new accommodations! I've planned for a large coop with plenty of room with a run/yard for them to enjoy.

Thank you for the opportunity to join,

Welcome to BYC!!

Welcome @LCM!

It's great to see fellow chicken enthusiasts join the forum. We are excited to hear about your plans for your new coop and the flock you're raising. It's always a good idea to learn from those who have experience, and it sounds like you had some great teachers!

Your selection of Easter Eggers, Polish, and Buff Orpingtons is a good mix. You're going to have some beautiful looking birds, and hopefully, they'll lay a good amount of delicious eggs for you. If you have any questions during the process, don't hesitate to ask.

This forum is a great place to meet many like-minded people here who are passionate about raising backyard chickens. I hope you enjoy your time here and make many new friends. Best of luck with your new coop and flock.
