I started with buff orpingtons....lavender, black and blue..10 years ago.

every year , we try to get maybe 4 more and it works out that we always have 10 to 18. We loose a few to foxes since they free range. We give away roosters, keeping just 1 boss.
We now have orpingtons, Dominic, astralorp and a beautiful mixed breed rooster.
My favorite part of raising them is having my broody girls either hatch or rear store bought chicks (which they do so well). Then watching their rearing throughout the stages. Great! Watching chickens is awesome.Animals bring peace to our lives and are such a rewarding hobby, if you can call it .

I have been reading this site for years now l, whenever I am researching. Thankyou
