New member from Louisiana. I've had Chickens since 2011. I currently have 30 adults and 29 chicks. I currently have Black Jersey Giants, Salmon Faverolle, Buff and Lavender Orpingtons, Black -Laced Silver Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex, and Black Cochins. Chick are barn yards mixes aside from 2 silkies that I was given to help a another chick out. I love watching my goofy goobers and enjoying the beautiful colors of their feathers. I also raise other animals (goats, cows and pigs) but chickens have always been one of my top favorites. I also "repurpose" their lost feathers into fish baits for fly fishing. I joined after having an issue with a chick and needing some help on it and wanting to post my question on another thread. I've had issues with chicks before but I'm running out options on getting a chick to eat.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

So glad you decided to join us. Nice variety of breeds you keep, makes for a colorful chicken yard for sure!

Sorry about your chick. :hugs I saw your post on the chick, I think you are doing all you can at this point. Some chicks are born weak, not all chicks make it to adulthood. Keep doing what you are doing and hopefully the little one starts to improve.

Thank you very much! I'll keep trying. This little holds a special place for me so I'm hoping it survives.

If you have an extra heat lamp, infra red preferred, you might keep this one in a warmer brooder. Upper 90s for temps. Weak babies need more heat. Infra red is healing as well.
