I do have it in the "baby" brooder with a red heat lamp with a few other special chicks just in caseIf you have an extra heat lamp, infra red preferred, you might keep this one in a warmer brooder. Upper 90s for temps. Weak babies need more heat. Infra red is healing as well.
Perfect!! Keep us posted on her!I do have it in the "baby" brooder with a red heat lamp with a few other special chicks just in case
Here is Chicken Nugget (the black one) that is the chick having issues. The red one is Captain (its missing an eye) and the two Silkies are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.Perfect!! Keep us posted on her!![]()
Omgoodness, she is tiny!!Here is Chicken Nugget (the black one) that is the chick having issues. The red one is Captain (its missing an eye) and the two Silkies are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Isn't she! Thankfully Captain acts like a mom and the Tweedles tend to just make sure she doesn't keep egg on her face. Once the other three get to the "i can fly" stage i'll move them to the larger pop up brooder with the lamp that way they have more room to run around and cant fly out but still be warm and I can keep an eye on them. I'm refuse to move them outside with my other babies till I know Chicken Nugget can eat and drink on its own and dont want to separate them since Captain and the Tweedles are helping to keep an eye on it.Omgoodness, she is tiny!!Watch she doesn't get trampled by the others. Thanks for sharing this photo!
