Yes, you are spot on with your information and that is what troubles me. I think 1 drake to keep is the best choice, only if I can find other hens. Which at the moment I am having difficulty with. I am going to contact my local 4H extension to see if any hens are available. All the hatcheries are sold out until next year and I only found one that isn't straight run only.
