Hello I’m a new member. We have 7 bantams including two Vorwerk cockerels and two female Vorwerk s. The other three are each different but one is Vorwerk crossed with Silkie and one is her offspring so only 25% Silkie. Our black smallest bantam was given to us lame and we’ve been caring for her since 12 months.

Welcome to BYC! Nice to meet you! :frow

Thank you. I do have a question about our little black bantam who is hanging in there and no longer lame but is not thriving either
You may want to post about him in the ER forum, you'll get more help there. :)

Good luck!
I’m sorry I don’t know why I have the word Hatching next to my name
That's just your title, completely normal! The more you're on here and doing things you'll earn trophies, and you're title will change the more trophies you get. :)

That is the first stage of membership. As you spend more time on here that will change. As for the Bantam we have some experts that can answer your questions better than I.
Thank you,
We home treated her for gout and also gave her firm grip floor surfaces and she very gradually recovered. She became our best layer for a short time ( I have details if required) then got diarrhoea for a week. She recovered but has never layed a hard shell egg since and after a few weeks of soft shell she stopped laying.
She used to be pale faced but became very red and beautiful feathers but in last couple of months her comb has gone paler and bent and she sleeps and tests frequently and has less interest in treats. Now one eye is half closed. No crust or runny eye or nose. What can be ailing her?

I'd definitely start a thread in our Emergency forums, those members are quite knowledgeable. :hugs
