Hi everyone, have recently joined as this site has been a great source of answering questions in my 1.5 hrs of raising hens. Started the hobby originally to have a life skill activity with my young children and have enjoyed the fresh eggs and all the learning that comes with the job. Have lost some along the way to foxes and have had to constantly improve and reinvent my backyard space - you wouldn’t think I’d have this issue in busy suburbia nsw but it is an issue and a big one.
Currently have 5 hens - 2 isas 1 australorp and 2 silkies with an order of 24 fertile eggs in spring to have a go at incubating and increasing my flock. Looking to add a rooster to the group and have my own little ecosystem running.
Will definitly be here most days looking for answers or asking them and if I have an answer I’d gladly share also.
