(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new to chickens! I bought a house that came with chickens and moved in January 6, 2024!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Five, but one is in her last years and no longer laying.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Rhode Island Reds
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They're so fun to watch and get to know! My daily interactions with them bring so much more joy than I thought possible!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Knitting, sewing, gardening, houseplants, bread making, etc.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
39 years old, living in Minnesota with my partner, our dog (chiweenie), and our 5 chickens! I work from home in the tech industry.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
All my google searches related to chickens lead back to this site! I thought I'd join to get more from it. I love to learn new things and have lots of questions!
