I'm at Iron Horse Guest Ranch in Waller County, Texas. We started with ten New Hampshire hens. We're now up to 12 New Hampshire's, 6 Golden Comets and 9 assorted hens. After several losses in the beginning, we fortified out chicken run with hardware cloth, top to bottom and added several owl decoys and bird be gone streams. We've had no losses since. We free range daily using a run-chicken automatic door which opens 30 minutes after sunrise and closes 30 after sunset. We only use organic feed.

The photo is on our first day, before adding roosts and hardware cloth.
