Hello all!
We are a family of five living in suburbia wishing we were in the country trying to be as close to the land as possible. We are very consciencious of the food we eat (where it comes from, what is in it etc.). We are homeschooling our three children, trying to homestead as much as possible and just trying to live our lives in peace.
After months of waiting we finally have chicks! We are so excited to have them again. Three years ago, we had 2 Rhode Island Reds. One of them, sadly, passed away suddenly one day, and the one that was left was very lonely. At the time we decided not to get anymore chickens, and we were able to find her a lovely new home with new friends. So now we have 4 Araucana chicks living in our kitchen right now and my husband and I are deciding on our coop design.
I am very glad Backyard Chicken exists! I have learned so much with all the great info and the forum.
