(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Been raising meat birds for about 10 years, now starting a laying flock (just 6 hens and a rooster)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 12, but will put extra roosters in the freezer come fall.
(3) What breeds do you have? Aquila right now, but have had standard broilers, freedom rangers (a favorite) and tried a few other meat birds over the years.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I’m pretty practical so meat and eggs, but my kids love to socialize with them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, anything else outside.
