Hello, I'm from Connecticut. This is my second flock that I've had. I currently have 6 hens I have 2 barn rock one silky, a leg horn, 2 wine dots. I love chickens cuz are entertaining. I'm on disability so I get to sit home a lot and watch my chickens and the wild birds interact with each other. Chipmunks, running in and out of their co-op, and they're all just one big, happy family. Here's just a few pics from when I first got them.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

We battle chipmunks occasionally. They can carry mites and lice, so we try our best to discourage them around our coop. We live next to a forest, so not much we can do, but our border collie goes into the coop and brings one out now and then, not alive. We treat the coop monthly with FG diatomaceous earth to prevent the chickens from being infested with their vermin.
