Hello, I'm Kelsy. Currently I have 5 Pekin ducks and have ordered20 Salmon Faverolle chicken, 20 Buff Orpington chickens, 10 Welsh Harlequins and 5 American Buff Geese. My husband grew up on a farm in WV. I was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. We are currently in Northeast Pennsylvania. I am the SAHM of 6 little ones. I do what needs to be done around here. My husband does what he can, but I am the go to gal when something breaks, needs repairs and he is not available. When he is around he is usually busy with a ton of differnet things that needs to be done. We have the chicken coops to build, the pasture to fence, the goose/duck house to build, the turkey shelter to get situated. We are in a very rural area on 30 acres.
Don't know what else to say.

Sounds like ya'll have your hands full. Glad you joined us!

Hubby is getting the area around the pond that use to be a horse pasture fenced in so the chickens, ducks and geese will have that area to themselves. I think hubby said it was about an acre or so. The only thing that has him worried is the septic field (yes field not tank) is over on the one side of the area. Between where the chickens will be and where the pond is where the ducks and geese will be.

They will be fenced in so keep them safe from people and most predators. Already discussed our plans with the landlord who can't wait. He wants a few chickens, a duck or two, a goose and possibly a turkey next fall. He is so excited that we are going to use the property as a farm and not let it all go to waste. Landlord even wants us to get goats and sheep when we can. I think he just wants animals here so that he have a few for his own table.

Not to mention the 7 cats (5 are kittens we found abandoned), 5 Pekins, the annoying beagle and the 6 kids plus hubby and the "sitter". Yes I have a live in sitter. Baby sit my kids for free room and board. With 6 of them (3 special needs) it sounds like a real bargain. Plus I knit for extra funds and do other crafts to sell. Hubby does what he can to bring in extra funds. The sitter is a life saver. I can go and run errands when I need to and can just go if the school calls.
