I was raised helping my dad with his backyard laying flock. I now have my own small flock of bantams and large fowl. And I've got my daughter started with her first group of Golden Comet layer chicks.
I have over 30 chickens right now. I raise d'Anvers, Black/Blue/Splash and Silver Ameraucana large fowl, BBRed, Red Pyle, and Brassyback Rosecombs, Golden Pencilled and Spangled Hamburgs, Birchen Cochin bantams, Black/Blue/Splash Orpingtons, and Mille Fleur and Porcelain Pyncheons. I've gotten starts this year of SC Light Brown Leghorns, Lavender Ameraucanas in bantam and large fowl, Mottled Ameraucanas in large fowl, black/blue Ameraucanas in bantam, Splash Hamburgs, Lavender/Black split Orpingtons, and several hard to find varieties of d'Anver.
I help my husband in the family custom cabinet business when he needs me, I'm an active beekeeper and fisherman, I have a daughter getting ready for kindergarten, and I'm a landscaper by trade.
