Hi!
I am glad to be here and looking forward to reading and chatting with other chicken fans!
My kids (7 and 9) are in 4H and loved raising and showing their chickens for the first time for our county fair last summer. They have an Americauna hen and a couple of bantam Brahmas (Buff, Dark) and a bantam frizzle Cochin, all of whom they just adore. They would like to have more Americaunas and a top hat breed or two. I have had hobby chickens all my life, but am pretty new to ordering chicks and showing. We will probably be asking some questions about getting new chicks, and preparing for showing. We live on a small dairy farm in western WI. We just built a new chicken coop this past fall. It looks like a small red cottage on the outside. People think it's a house for our "hired help."
