Hi, I'm a new member, I've been checking out all the interesting and useful messages and decided I'd better join in the fun.
In July I got 5 hens, (3 beautiful Orpingtons, Buff, Splash and Black, and 2 Polish, frizzle and lace) They are about 6 months old.
In October my Buff Orp started to crow so my supplier took him back. I got a new Buff she is about 6 weeks younger than the others.
It took about a week for the others to accept her and stop being mean to her, now she's one of the family. I get 6 eggs a week from Splash.( Come on you other slackers).
The Polish are very comical and they are all very entertaining. They free range around my garden when I'm at home, which is most of the time. I love my chooks they were the best birthday pressie I ever had.
We lost Sally my lovely West Highland Terrier last year, she was 14 years old. I have 3 children and 2 step children. My youngest daughter flew the nest and went to Uni in Sept.
I am a complementary therapist and my hubby and I spend our spare time biking. We have a Honda Valkyrie and a Moto Guzzi. (I'm pillion). We recently rode from Yorkshire to Portugal. Fantastic.
