Hello Everyone!

My name is Tim Adkins and I am a backyard chicken beginner.

The reason i really want to get into this with my fiancee for the obvious reasons of Fresh eggs. But also to hold up family traditions.

My grandfather and his father raised many of chickens I want to be the one to carry on this tradition. I am a Graphic Designer, Avid homebrewer(craft beer) and also strongly believe in grow what you eat.

My Chicks



Went out today after work and bought my first set of chicks. Americauna (easter eggers).

Ran into a small problem early on but took care of it and now I will have keep an eye on them.

They had a bit of "Muck Butt" or "Poopy Butt" but a little bit of warm water and getting in and getting my hands dirty...(My wife's hands because she has the long finger nails, but don't tell her im going to take credit for it. haha j.k)

The 6 little gals are doing good. They said they are all hens at the local feed store but I have a hunch that the Yellow one in the center is a Ro.
