Hi. I'm new to backyard chickens. I look forward to getting to know more about all of you chicken lovers and learning more about raising chickens. I have 4 RIR and 4 CA whites. They are 20 weeks old and 2 of the RIR are laying already. Very exciting.

Welcome from College Station, Texas. I've been gathering eggs for quite awhile now, and still get excited each afternoon when I find one or more in the henhouse. Our chickens are free-range so they could be laying anywhere, and sometimes they do.

Hi there in Texas. I'm in Missouri Valley,Iowa and my chickens cant free range due to my own dogs, bobcats and various other predators. We live on 2 acres outside of a small town so I wish they could, but no such luck. Funny finding eggs. like Easter. My kids would enjoy the hunt. Ha! They take turns going to get the eggs in the morning. Good motivator to get them out of bed for school. We found 3 today. Yeah!
