Hello! I'm CHRISTIE
I just built a coop and ordered 4 four week old chicks from Murray Mcmurray.I know it isn't quite the season to be starting chickens, but I couldn't wait! I have an Americana, blue Andalusia, silver laced wyandotte , and a red star. I want them to be comfortable being handled but I don't want them afraid of me grabbing them. Is this the best age to try to hold them, or am I just teaching them to be afraid of me?

Hey Christie!

I think that handling them young is the way to go, they'll get used to you - some may even want cuddles when they get older. Photos please!
