Hello,
My name is Chris, and I have just adopted four ex-battery hens. They have already taken to their new spacious coop. I'll post some photos along the way to track their return to looking like a healthy bird.
Cheers,
Chris.

I actually don't know. Now I've read up on it, I'd like to find out. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. They did look pretty happy, that said, they had been rescued a week earlier, and wormed and vaccinated by their rescuers. So they had been free ranging before I got them. They cost $6.00 Australian each, and already me and the kids have been entertained and endeared to.

At least they should be warm enough in your spring weather. Here, they would freeze without a winter coat. How nice of you to rescue them.

If you don't mind a comment, any predator can slice thru chicken wire like a knife thru butter. This especially includes dogs, neighbors allow to run loose. They will be much safer if you replace the chicken wire with 1/2" hardware cloth affixed tightly to a sturdy frame.
