Hello im a new member here at Byc, I've been raising chickens for about 6 months now. Im in need of some helpful info on my coop. My coop is made of wire for sides and tin for roof, and the ground for the floor. Everytime it rains I get a lil bit of water in floor of coop what should I do? Any helpful ideas would be very much appreciated

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! You might try posting in the Coop/Run design forum for advice on what to try, pictures if you have them, it sounds like you have an open sided coop? https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/9/coop-run-design-construction-maintenance Sounds like you will have to raise the floor of your coop somehow, or a better overhang / wind/ rain protection depending on how the water is getting in there.

Kelsie has given you a great link to do some posting in. You also might like to use sand on your flooring. I use sand in the coops and runs, even the nest boxes! It stays very dry, keeps the flies down, soft on the pads and is very easy to clean. Very sanitary. Here is a link to a page on sand that you can read all about it...

Good luck with your coop build and welcome to BYC!

I totally agree with Sourland raise the coop - which is great if you area floods also. Put down a solid floor - maybe some linoleum so it will be easy to clean, cover it with whatever litter or shavings you intend to use. On a dirt floor you will have rats, etc. burrowing up and eating birds and eggs.
