Hello all!! I'm new to the owning chickens thing, but excited for my first flock. I have friends who have had chickens for quite a while. I have a rooster and five chicks who are inside a brooder right now. The rooster was from a friend. Nice to meet you all, I'm excited to join this flock

Are they all about the same age/size? When you say chicks, I picture very young birds. When you say rooster I picture a full grown rooster in with them. Hope not

No rooster is seperate and won't be with them until they are full grown. The chicks are about the same age, about three weeks old. I got them all at the same time, and they seem to be feathering out nicely. One seems to be younger, even though we got she/he at the same time. If I have males with the little ones I can find a good home, I know I can only have one rooster right now.
