(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? when I was a little girl as far back as I can remember my grandfather raised chickens. I'm 30 now but when I was about 10 my grandfather got arrested for fighting them and was put on probation we had to get rid of all our chickens. including my rooster Leeroy he was my best friend I believe he was a kelso most beautiful rooster I have ever seen. anyways I was heart broken! I have never had another since a few days ago we went to the fair where they have a barn yard scramble and let kids go and and grab any animal they can and keep it. Needless to say we ended up with two chickens! also two ducklings a rabbit and a cat!
