My fiance (wife in 26 days) and I bought a piece of property last fall and are planning on getting chickens. We bought an old shed which needs some work this spring and are planning on working to overhaul it over the next year or so and get our first chicks next spring. Have some questions for those more experienced in doing this type of thing.

Welcome to BYC!

Definitely stop by our learning center for lots of good articles on getting started. And also you state thread to chat with others in your state to see how they do things. Kelsie has left you with both of these links.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! My recommendation is to make your coop predator proof by using 1/4 inch hardware cloth (very strong mesh wire) instead of chicken wire which won't keep anything out. Best of luck to you!
