Hello from Missouri.Glad to have you!!.. And Thank you for your dedication and service. Not everyone is so brave.
You have a nice flock already.Incubating sure hurries your fl ock size along quickly!
If you haven't found it yet there is an incubating thread which you will enjoy everyone has eggs set and give advise and ask questions. A really fun thread but adds greatly to your chicken addiction lol
Ahh silkies.. started with them last year see what all the excitement was about..They grow on you... so cute fluffy small. hard not to like them.I started with hatching 3 eggs out of 12... and then this year bought more eggs got 3 again then I decided don't buy one more egg to incubate or chick..... Went right out and bought six 3 day old silkie chicks Buff cuckoo and blue-splash now about 8 weeks old.
One boy is giving his version of crowing the last 2 weeks sounds like a rusty gate. Creaks!!Yes this young!!
I have 3 other breeds Brahmas Orps and Amercaunas plus mixed and variety of colors but these are becoming my favorites of all..maybe they will be yours too.Like you I'm hoping for pullets in the blue splash as I have 2 grown roos already who need mates.
So sorry about your baby Turkey.

Thank you guys for the welcoming I finally got into my passion which is raising poultry. I raised poultry several years ago back in WV until my entire flock was wiped out by some very hungry possums. Then at that time I sold the farm and moved to MT which has been a dream of mine. Lived there for three yrs. Now I live in the wild state of KY back to raising poultry. I love it and I will continue until God calls me home
