Glad you joined! BYC is FULL of info on raising and caring for your girls.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. We have a BYCER user name 'ALASKAN." who posts very frequently on the" Old Folks " and the "Cold Folks Thread." I believe he lives in the same town or near it. I'm sure he could tell you how to manage chickens in winter, in Alaska. He is NOT fond of cold or snow but, a very friendly, knowledgeable person.

Welcome to BYC, Brittany. I'm glad you decided to join our flock. My family and I have visited Alaska on several occasions and love it up there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of ladies do you have?

Hello everyone. My name is shane and I'm trying to raise chickens, turkins and pigs. Pig was an accident. I need advice on the pig thing if anyone is available.

Morning cannonball, welcome to BYC! I've never raised pigs but you can post in this section of BYC and ask: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/22/other-pets-livestock
