I am so happy to have joined this community!! I have learned so much. I have loved chickens for so many years but never was in a place where I could have them so I learned all I could in hopes someday I would have my own babies. About 12 weeks ago that dream came true when my husband came home with 3 very much anticipated chics. I love them!!! They are happy, healthy & a bit nutty!! I owe this community a huge thank you because anytime I searched anything I was brought here & read posts & learned how to make my babies healthy & happy!!! I have 2 2 wk old chics in the brooder. They are getting so big so fast. I'll be doing a lot of research on how to introduce & acclimate them with the 3 older ones. Any suggestions on this thread will be greatly appreciated also.

Again thank you for all your help, knowledge & experience information!!!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! There is a nice article in the Learning Center on integrating flocks you might like to check out, the part about actually combining them is after the quarantine section https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/adding-to-your-flock It is best to wait until the younger ones are about the same size as the older ones and then have a long period of the two flocks being able to see each other but no touching, through wire seem to work best, ie dividing the coop into two sections or keeping the new/younger ones in a cage inside the coup for a couple of weeks to a month at least. The chickens will get to know each other and sort of work out a pecking order before actually coming in contact with each other. After a week or two, letting them free range together is a good idea and should help... It will take a couple of weeks to get the pecking order sorted out.

Thank you for the link and the information. I will try your suggestion & read the link. I'm willing to try anything that may work. I know it's not going to be an overnight success. I'm actually wondering if one the new babies "Popcorn" will try to be head of the pecking order. She's pretty bossy already at 2 weeks. More so than than any of the 1st 3. Lol. There is a reason we named her Popcorn - she bounces around like popcorn. Time and patience will tell.
