I am joining your elite backyard chicken group because my husband built a new coup and we just have three pullets. I was raised on a farm and we raised chickens but it was no fun as a kid. I find myself going back to all my childhood chores I had on the farm, large garden , fruit trees, grape arbor, berries and strawberries. We are now in all these things for the fun, learning and wholesome foods and hobbies. I' m sure you can teach me many things and have fun along the way. Thanks for allowing us this opportunity. So glad you could join BYC! Congratulations on beginning your chicken adventures. It can be so exciting and fun! What breeds of pullets did you end up getting?

Welcome to our flock! Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We'll be happy to help.

We have hyaline 36 and got them from a friend.
Nice to meet your Rose and Denny. I am not familiar with hylines but, would imagine they are high production layers. Good luck with your flock.
Hy-Line 36 is the Hy-Line company's strain of commercial White Leghorns and they are egg laying machines. You should get loads of large, white eggs from those girls. :o)
