[Chicken Miller]

My 8 year old daughter and I have officially started our chicken adventure even though our chicks won't arrive until the end of July. We have ordered 5 chicks from My Pet Chicken.com and are getting the coop and run prepared this weekend. We are very very excited. We ordered 2 silkie bantams, 1 Orpington, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock and 1 Easter Egger.

Awesome!! the orpington will be your favorite of all. They are very gentle. Silkie's are sweet as well. Hope your barred rock isn't a roo. They can be mean. Just speaking from experience. Wonderful to hear that you are involving your children they will love them. good luck

Glad you joined the flock I think you will like you Buff Orpington and your Easter Egger. Mine are all very nice birds!! The Easter Eggers are quite friendly and like to jump on my shoulders and if I put my arm out they will jump up on it

Kids tend to like silkies, they are mild mannered(usually) and some even tolerate "dress up" days or riding in a stroller.
