Good afternoon! We are new members and live in Eastern Oregon along the Columbia River. We have a small flock of 9 chickens, 8 hens and one onery rooster. We have 3 New Hampshire Reds, 2 Silver Lace, 1 white Silkie, 1 black Sex Link, 1 Leghorn, and the rooster is a New Hampshire. The Leghorn went broody on us and is currently on 10 eggs ( of all varieties!) that should start hatching tomorrow. We didn't want to fight her off the nest daily and decided to just let her hatch a few! We are also getting ready to order a new batch of about 15 chicks to add to our flock the middle of the month of several varieties that we would like to try out.
There is nothing better than home grown eggs, and we love to share with our friends and family!! We are looking forward to the knowledge to be found on this forum as we raise and enjoy our chickens!
