Mary and Benoit, new members who have had 5 or 8 chickens for many years in Homestead, FL my hobbies are Human nutrition Benoit is a horticulturalist.
One chicken has vent gleet I think and tiny, black worms in her vent area and flies bothering here there. Totally not moving.

Get her somewhere there are no flies like inside a building. You have to clean her up and get all the flies or little bugs out. If there are maggots, you have to get them all out. It may take a few soaking several times getting bugs out . I would give her electrolyte solution to drink and rest in solitary quiet dark place . Let me tag some people who can help more @azygous @Debbie292d @Wyorp Rock

Can you post any pictures of her vent area? Are there moving maggots? Is there a bad odor? It sounds more like flystrike/maggot infestation from flies that happens in warm weather when one gets a soiled vent. The treatment for flystrike is to separate them, soak in warm soapy water or Epsom salts water or put a little disinfectant in the water for 15-20 minutes, but only if they are not so weak they may die from the stress. If weak, just flush some warm soapy water onto the vent with a syringe, bulb/ear syringe, or a turkey baster. Try to get every maggot off the vent, and apply plain neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment. Repeat this 2-3 times for a day or two until no more maggots have hatched from fly larvae. Try then to get some fluids and food into her. Here is a good article to read:

Thank you. I cleaned her up with soap and water and put her in a cage with mosquito netting so no flies can get inside. Because I think the rooster and other hens were pecking her vent, it had a raw place under the vent. Lots and lots of white poop all over the area and back. I put some coconut oil with garlic and a drop of thyme and tea tree on the raw areas.
I noticed these 1/8 tiny white worm -like creatures all over and on her feathers especially tail feathers. They got on us too.( Once I got chicken mites and couldn’t sleep for days. I don’t think that’s what these are.)
Thank you for advice.?

Are they black or white? Can you post pictures?

Hi Mary, and welcome to BYC! :frow

So sorry for you and your hen going through this.

Initially, you said the worms were black. Maggots are white, so maybe they were just dirty? I'd definitely do what @Eggcessive suggests above and put some triple antibiotic or Neosporin on the raw areas after flushing them off.

In addition, it sounds like she's got vent gleet too. A picture would help but what you describe sounds like it. You can pick up some monostat or equivalent and put a bit of that on her vent too, plus give her little bit orally. If it's a tube, just squeeze out a bit on the tip of your finger and put it in her beak. Probiotics in her water or yogurt will help too.

I hope she gets past this fast!

Photos would be very helpful. Please and thank you!

Tiny white worms all over her sounds like FlyStrike, not Vent Gleet.
