Hello everyone! I posted my semi complete coop in the other thread already but it's done enough now to post here. Having chickens was a spur of the moment thing for us. Family of 6. My oldest does FFA and, well we now have backyard chickens! First time for us and we don't farm but live in a farming small town (bedroom community). We have 6 hens, I hope and look forward to some eggs after a while. I finished the coop enough for them to be safe and the weather was plenty warm enough for them to go outside for a bit and enjoy the day. Still chilly at night here and they have a few feathers to get yet, I'm guessing another week or so, they're almost 6 weeks old. Any I'm having a beer watching the chickens peck the ground!

The ramp isn't built yet. I just let them out since it was nice and warm.

Glad you have joined us and congrats on your new flock.

But unless you are planning to lock them in the coop at night, you should rethink the chicken wire and change to hardware cloth for predator protection.

Good luck with all.
