After a few years on not having chickens I stood in line for 4 1/2 hours to get 4. little chicks from the feed store. I have an Ameracana, a Black Austrolorp, a Cinnamon Queen and a Sapphire Gem. Never had the last two but looking forward to having them and seeing their little personalities. I got back on here because I noticed some loose stool on the shavings and since it has bee awhile I was concerned. My little girls are 3 1/2 weeks old and have more than doubled in size and all over the place so wasn't worried about them at first. Not sure if I should be worried but after reading other posts it says its normal. No change in food or different water (bottled). containers are cleaned on regular bases. Bedding is changed on regular bases as well. They seem happy and quiz-ative about everything. Of course it is the weekend and farm supply store is closed and wont be open at all tomorrow BUT I will be going to the store first thing Monday and buying something to put in their water to ease my mind. They are deciding who is at the top of the pecking order. KNOCK on wood I haven't had a problem with chickens till they are closer to two so hope my luck holds out. Thanks for reading and then also for allowing me to join again. Deb

Hi, Deb. Welcome! :frow Are you a transplant from MO or into it? I'm in SE Missouri, transplanted IN from the Great American SW (Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona) about 15 years ago. Either way, we're glad you're HERE, in BYC, the best place for learning and sharing about all kinds of poultry and other critters too! Pull up a chair and make yourself at home!
