Hello! We came to raise ducks by accident.
My son rescued a beautiful orange and white Indian Runner duck in February and took it to our neighbors house for rehabilitation.
A few months later, our neighbors decided to move and we had three weeks to design and build a duck run for the four ladies we agreed to bring home. We now have three Muskovy and one Indian runner. It works out because I can’t eat chicken eggs, but do you love the duck eggs!!!
I can’t believe how much joy they bring me. Lucy and Felicia will eat out of my hand and Lucy (our Indian runner) actually runs towards me when she sees me… Because I always have a small tomato for her, which are her favorite treats.
The girls are slowly winning over my husband who may have been a bit reluctant to all of the building they required, and our three kids are generally helpful in caring for them. They love to gather the eggs!
Since we are going into our first winter, I thought it would be a good time to join the group!
